Environment

Care for the environment has been one of the characteristics of Océ’s operations ever since the company was founded. We continuously improve our eco-footprint by developing new technologies. Showcases in this field are our Océ VarioPrint 6320 Ultra with very limited energy consumption and our solvent free CrystalPoint technology. In 2011 we introduced our Océ VarioPrint DP Line with newly-developed Océ DirectPress, Océ EnergyLogic and Océ HeatXchange technologies that help customers to reduce environmental impact.

In 2010, Océ participated in the Global Compact International Yearbook. The Yearbook offers in-depth information on key sustainability issues relevant to stakeholders around the world and seeks to promote comprehensive knowledge exchange and learning in the spirit of the Global Compact principles. A two page article on the Océ Sustainability strategy has been published in the 2010 Yearbook as a best practice example. The article showcased Océ’s approach to the implementation of the ten Global Compact principles. 

Furthermore, Océ made progress with regard to the environmental principles in 2011. For many years, Océ products are designed, developed and manufactured with the total life cycle in mind. These continuous efforts in maximizing the reuse of products were recognized: Océ was featured twice in TV shows about sustainable manufacturers. One of the topics was “Industry Leaders Pioneering the Future of Environmental Sustainability.”
