WEEE
The European WEEE directive [Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment] makes producers and importers responsible for end-of-life return, removal and waste processing. The directive has little direct influence on Océ because of our long-standing policy of equipment re-use. With an asset recovery factory in use since 1990 and refurbishing and remanufacturing facilities in Venlo [Netherlands], Prague [Czech Republic] and Itasca [USA], Océ accepted its responsibilities long before the directive came into force. Océ is committed to meeting the increased ambitions of the European Commission in their proposal to revise the WEEE directive.
