REACH
The REACH (Regulation for Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals) legislation (see EC 1907/2006) took effect on 1 June 2007. The Océ Group’s policy aims to safeguard the health and safety of its customers, employees and all those who may be affected, either directly or indirectly, by its activities. As a part of this commitment, Océ will proactively manage the implementation of the REACH legislation within our company.
REACH is implemented in stages. In 2008 the focus was on pre-registration. Through good cooperation with its supply chain, Océ made sure that all relevant substances were pre-registered in time for the deadline of 1 December 2008. With respect to the so-called Substances of Very High Concern candidate list Océ will closely monitor any new listings and information in order to be able to check and reconfirm that its products are compliant as well as to ensure their safety.
