Together we can act eco-responsibly, taking into account local regulations.
The table below shows the impact and overall benefit on the environment.
Please note that liquid toners and solvent inks are an entirely different situation. They are classed as Special Waste and must be collected and disposed of by a licensed waste contractor.
Should your local community have a recycling program for plastics, this should be your preferred choice. If not, or if you do not have access to it, disposal with your normal plastic waste often is the best option. Of course, you can ask Océ to collect the empty bottles, but this is often of lesser environmental benefit unless local collection is possible. There may also be a charge in your local area/ country for this service.
We continue to look for the best ways to prevent wastage and to dispose of the waste produced by our printing systems. We welcome any remarks and suggestions you have on the subject of environmentally friendly reuse or disposal at sustainability@oce.com or via your local Océ office. As new insights and developments arise, we will implement them in such a way as to achieve maximum benefit for you and the environment.
Building a sustainable business has always been one of our core principles. Our commitment to sustainability is demonstrated by our participation in the UN Global Compact and by the fact that we hold an ISO14001 certificate. Additionally both you and the environment profit from a full asset recovery program at Océ as well as from the very low energy consumption and emission values of Océ printing systems.
We do our utmost to closely follow all new developments in recycling and to implement these where appropriate.
Our annual sustainability report provides an overview of all our activities and and the ways in which we take our responsibility for the environment.
