Sustainability Report 2010
This Sustainability Report describes Océ's performance in its five sustainability focal areas and presents the actions taken during the year. Furthermore the report provides quantitative information on the economic, social and environmental impact of Océ’s operations. The activities are reported on the basis of the G3 Guidelines laid down by the Global Reporting Initiative.
Report highlights
Key achievements during 2010 include:
CO2 emissions have been reduced by 8.3%.
the percentage of renewable electricity used by Océ production sites increased from 12% in 2009 to 45% in 2010.
Océ was ranked among the top 10 scoring companies of the Dutch Transparency Benchmark as well as the Dutch Carbon Disclosure Leadership Index
the Océ Prémia Class product line, which provides a sustainable alternative to newly manufactured equipment, was extended with the addition of the Océ VarioPrint® 2065 Prémia Class and the Océ TDS450® Prémia Class.
the launch of the Océ ColorWave 300 multifunction printer, a compact, all-in-one, large format system that consumes drastically less energy compared to conventional B&W systems and reduces the required floor space by half.
Océ sustainability strategy was rewarded in the form of international certification and recognition.
The Océ external auditor Ernst & Young Accountants LLP was requested to provide external assurance on this Sustainability Report. The results can be found in the assurance report on page 72.
