The world's fastest duplex printer

Venlo, the Netherlands, 9 May 2007 — The Océ VarioPrint 6250 is the best digital duplex printer in the world, according to the European Digital Press Association (EDP). Océ's black & white printing system has received the European Digital Press Award 2007.

The organisation praised Océ-developed Gemini technology and the system's high productivity, print quality, easy handling and smooth paper input. Like the other systems in the Océ VarioPrint 6000 series, the VarioPrint 6250 offers many advantages over other printing systems.    

Fast and accurate

The Océ VarioPrint 6250 prints A3 oversized sheets 25 percent faster than any other system available, making it the world's fastest printer for this paper size. This digital printer is also the best you can get when it comes to accuracy. Prints made by the Océ VarioPrint 6250 are perfectly aligned front to back on a sheet. Lines, characters and graphics on both sides of the print are in exactly the same place. This is achieved through Océ Gemini technology, which prints on both sides of the paper simultaneously. Other systems need two runs to print front and back.  

Large paper stock

According to the EDP, the Océ VarioPrint 6250 has further benefits. The paper trays hold 13,800 sheets up to 320 x 488 mm in size, the biggest capacity in its class. An additional roll feeder can be attached extending the capacity even further.  

Media diversity

The system prints on almost any type of paper. Machine coated, structured, tabs, all kinds of book paper and regular paper from 50 g/m2 up to 300 g/m2 are no problem. The Océ VarioPrint 6250 is specially designed for corporate print rooms and commercial printers like marketing services companies, book printers and reprographics companies. Because of its accuracy, the Océ VarioPrint 6250 is ideal for printing books and technical documentation. Large in-house printrooms at companies or government institutes can also benefit from the Océ VarioPrint 6000 series. Thanks to its compact design, the system saves space and its low heat and ozone emissions make it very environmentally friendly. The EDP Award will be presented to Océ in June, during the Fespa Trade show in Berlin.
